Estuve en contacto epistolar con Bari Watts en los primeros 90. Acababa de descubrir su live in the studio, "Stoned Crazy" (1989), que salió también el mismo año que éste "Scenes...." aunque posteriormente. No era un recién llegado el Watts, ya llevaba su camino rodado. En 1971 estaba en una banda llamada Dune, donde Nick Saloman (Bevis Frond) tocaba el bajo. En el 73 estaba en Mayroc, otro power trío londinense que llegaron a grabar un single. En ésta banda ya estaba Ric Gunther, el tremendo batería de Outskirts of Infinity. El debut de éstos no llegaría hasta 1987, en el sello de Saloman, Woronzow, "Lords of the Dark Skies" se llamaba la criatura. Hendrix por un tubo, mística hippie y ambiente de 1967. "Scenes from the Dreams of Angels" es lo mismo, corregido y aumentado. Con el bajo y teclados de Nick Saloman. También por ésas fechas editaron su famoso "Acid Jam", con los mismos sospechosos habituales. "Gates of Infinity...
I sometimes wonder what it was like to be a music lover in the seventies. So many bands with so many records and so many of them obscure…was it as big a treat as it is today to find something incredibly rare. Blackwater Park "Dirt Box" [Spalax]
ResponderEliminarTheir lone (only one album) with 1972 this German hard rock outfit with an English vocalist,combined elements from multiple extant and budding rock subgenres to construct their complex sound: hard rock, blues-rock, jazz-rock, acid rock, prog rock, and even proto-metal.
Blackwater Park is an obscure band that emerged from the Berlin underground scene. They released their unique album "Dirt Box" in 1971, published on BASF in 1972. The group delivers a captivating, effective bluesy-heavy rock "trip" with lot of incisive guitar riffs, progressive Hammond Organ's arrangements, melodic heavy vocals and psychedelic effects that are part of the mix. His British singer had a strong voice. Especially the third and heavy track "Indian Summer", which clearly shows us the quality, engaging and virtuosity among its members. Remember that the last song is beautiful version of "For No One", composed by Lennon and McCartney,with the album 'Revolver' issued in 1966.
(Accessible) kraut power band whose work is essential for collectors. "Dirt Box" has been recently reissued on CD by record labels Second Battle.
Excelente banda!!!. La conoci el año pasado. Tienen una mezcla de progresivo, toques de bules y hard. Las piezas Indian summer, rock song,mental block y Dirty face muy buenas!!!
