Z.Z. HILL - I'M A BLUES MAN (1983)
Como casi siempre hay un antes y un después en la carrera de todo artista y en el caso de ZZ Hill lo tendríamos que buscar en su desembarco a Moloco Records. Pero remitámonos e indaguemos en el pasado de este bluesman con marcada vocalización soulera nacido como Arzell Hill en Napoles, Texas (1935) y que pasó buena parte de su infancia en el coro de la iglesia y ya entrada su adolescencia se larga a la cabeza de un grupo vocal llamado Spiritual Five, alternando con su trabajo habitual de camionero. En los sesenta los discos de BB King, Freddie King, Sam Cooke, Bobby "Blue" Bland y Wilson Pickett empezaron a llamarle poderosamente la atención de tal manera que comenzó a escribir sus propias canciones y cantar influenciados por estos próceres del blues y el soul. Alentado por su hermano Matt enfiló hacia California en busca de alguna oportunidad y sus primeros trabajos no tuvieron el suceso deseado; poca concurrencia a sus shows, falta de promoción y una decadencia de la músic...

ResponderEliminarTheir lone (only one album) with 1972 this German hard rock outfit with an English vocalist,combined elements from multiple extant and budding rock subgenres to construct their complex sound: hard rock, blues-rock, jazz-rock, acid rock, prog rock, and even proto-metal.
Blackwater Park is an obscure band that emerged from the Berlin underground scene. They released their unique album "Dirt Box" in 1971, published on BASF in 1972. The group delivers a captivating, effective bluesy-heavy rock "trip" with lot of incisive guitar riffs, progressive Hammond Organ's arrangements, melodic heavy vocals and psychedelic effects that are part of the mix. His British singer had a strong voice. Especially the third and heavy track "Indian Summer", which clearly shows us the quality, engaging and virtuosity among its members. Remember that the last song is beautiful version of "For No One", composed by Lennon and McCartney,with the album 'Revolver' issued in 1966.
(Accessible) kraut power band whose work is essential for collectors. "Dirt Box" has been recently reissued on CD by record labels Second Battle.
Excelente banda!!!. La conoci el año pasado. Tienen una mezcla de progresivo, toques de bules y hard. Las piezas Indian summer, rock song,mental block y Dirty face muy buenas!!!
