Es de sobras sabido por su parroquia friki, que los Beatles lo inventaron todo. El andar hacia adelante, la rueda, el yo-yo y el calimocho. Insisto, lo inventaron todo, los tíos. Error. Fueron Hawkwind. Desde su querido Ladbroke Grove y con más drogas encima que en unas Olimpiadas. Allá en los finales 60, como Group X, mano a mano con Pink Fairies en su activismo anarco-contracultural. Dave Brock es incombustible. Lleva toda la vida sacando adelante la nave Viento Halcón, con mayor o menor fortuna, dependiendo de lo favorable u hostil de las modas. No para de crear, de moverse, de componer y tocar en vivo......y de cambiar de miembros. He desistido de saber cuál es su actual formación, porque seguro que alguien ha cambiado de un día para otro. En su pueblo yo creo que ya han tocado todos. Puede que ése sea el secreto. Mucho cambio, pero un solo líder. Todo cambia, para seguir siendo lo mismo. Hagan lo que hagan, sonará a Hawkwind. I sometimes wonder what it was like to be a music lover in the seventies. So many bands with so many records and so many of them obscure…was it as big a treat as it is today to find something incredibly rare. Blackwater Park "Dirt Box" [Spalax]
ResponderEliminarTheir lone (only one album) with 1972 this German hard rock outfit with an English vocalist,combined elements from multiple extant and budding rock subgenres to construct their complex sound: hard rock, blues-rock, jazz-rock, acid rock, prog rock, and even proto-metal.
Blackwater Park is an obscure band that emerged from the Berlin underground scene. They released their unique album "Dirt Box" in 1971, published on BASF in 1972. The group delivers a captivating, effective bluesy-heavy rock "trip" with lot of incisive guitar riffs, progressive Hammond Organ's arrangements, melodic heavy vocals and psychedelic effects that are part of the mix. His British singer had a strong voice. Especially the third and heavy track "Indian Summer", which clearly shows us the quality, engaging and virtuosity among its members. Remember that the last song is beautiful version of "For No One", composed by Lennon and McCartney,with the album 'Revolver' issued in 1966.
(Accessible) kraut power band whose work is essential for collectors. "Dirt Box" has been recently reissued on CD by record labels Second Battle.
Excelente banda!!!. La conoci el año pasado. Tienen una mezcla de progresivo, toques de bules y hard. Las piezas Indian summer, rock song,mental block y Dirty face muy buenas!!!
