Mark - Almond - Rising (1972)
La fusión de dos de sus miembros daría lugar al nombre que terminó adquiriendo esta alianza, John Mark y Johnny Almond, músicos que comenzaron su vida en ambientes diferentes pero que por casualidad acabarían conociéndose en 1969 cuando trabajaron en la grabación de 2 álbumes del inagotable John Mayall, una vez terminada la época de los Bluesbreakers. Es allí donde John y Johnny se dieron cuenta de la buena conexión que había entre ellos, no tardaron en decidir que debían unir fuerzas y dar forma a una criatura que se llamaría Mark Almond, no fueron muy originales. Retrocediendo algo en el tiempo puedo decir que los primeros escarceos de John Mark arrancan en 1963 grabando un disco con otro miembro que luego pertenecería a la banda de Cat Stevens. También acompañó a Marianne Faithfull en sus grabaciones y conciertos ya en 1965, con ella escribió y realizó arreglos en varias de sus canciones. Blackwater Park is an obscure band that emerged from the Berlin underground scene. They released their unique album "Dirt Box" in 1971, published on BASF in 1972. The group delivers a captivating, effective bluesy-heavy rock "trip" with lot of incisive guitar riffs, progressive Hammond Organ's arrangements, melodic heavy vocals and psychedelic effects that are part of the mix. His British singer had a strong voice. Especially the third and heavy track "Indian Summer", which clearly shows us the quality, engaging and virtuosity among its members. Remember that the last song is beautiful version of "For No One", composed by Lennon and McCartney,with the album 'Revolver' issued in 1966.
(Accessible) kraut power band whose work is essential for collectors. "Dirt Box" has been recently reissued on CD by record labels Second Battle.
Excelente banda!!!. La conoci el año pasado. Tienen una mezcla de progresivo, toques de bules y hard. Las piezas Indian summer, rock song,mental block y Dirty face muy buenas!!!
