Si existía algún sitio que en los 80 estuvieran pensando todavía en prog rock inundado de teclados, ése era Suecia. Cómo no. Los miembros de Tribute, (que no era una banda tributo, sino una performance multimedia band), se "separan". Pero siguen juntos. Curiosa forma de separarse. Más o menos, como los matrimonios separados de ahora, que viven juntos. A diferencia de éstos, lo de esta banda no fue un infierno. Bueno, algo sí. Cambian su nombre a The Foundation, por su afición a Isaac Asimov. Y ponen en orden un caótico batiburrillo de ideas y prioridades. Porque aquello, en un principio, era un kilombo de gustos diferentes de cada uno de sus miembros. Johan Belín (teclados a mogollón, incluyendo los Yamaha CS-80 y DX-7, MiniMoog, Moog Source o el Roland Jupiter-6). I sometimes wonder what it was like to be a music lover in the seventies. So many bands with so many records and so many of them obscure…was it as big a treat as it is today to find something incredibly rare. Blackwater Park "Dirt Box" [Spalax]
ResponderEliminarTheir lone (only one album) with 1972 this German hard rock outfit with an English vocalist,combined elements from multiple extant and budding rock subgenres to construct their complex sound: hard rock, blues-rock, jazz-rock, acid rock, prog rock, and even proto-metal.
Blackwater Park is an obscure band that emerged from the Berlin underground scene. They released their unique album "Dirt Box" in 1971, published on BASF in 1972. The group delivers a captivating, effective bluesy-heavy rock "trip" with lot of incisive guitar riffs, progressive Hammond Organ's arrangements, melodic heavy vocals and psychedelic effects that are part of the mix. His British singer had a strong voice. Especially the third and heavy track "Indian Summer", which clearly shows us the quality, engaging and virtuosity among its members. Remember that the last song is beautiful version of "For No One", composed by Lennon and McCartney,with the album 'Revolver' issued in 1966.
(Accessible) kraut power band whose work is essential for collectors. "Dirt Box" has been recently reissued on CD by record labels Second Battle.
Excelente banda!!!. La conoci el año pasado. Tienen una mezcla de progresivo, toques de bules y hard. Las piezas Indian summer, rock song,mental block y Dirty face muy buenas!!!
