Una vez comentadas las dos principales bandas del movimiento y a partir de ahora no nos queda más remedio que avanzar y retroceder a la vez en el tiempo y establecer una especie de árbol genealógico de afinidades y agrupaciones que surgieron en esos intensos y liosos años 69-70-71-72 y aquí podría agregar algo que suele pasarse por alto. No existía buen rollo ni camaradería entre el rock como “actitud” de lo básico y cotidiano y el rock progresivo como intento cultural. Se puede pensar, incluso imaginar que la psicodelia dio el paso al progresivo y a la incorporación de otros estilos y que esto ocurrió de manera amigable con el concepto de rock clásico. Pues nada más lejos de la realidad. Lo cierto es que desde el principio lo que entonces se llamaba “música underground” que fue la denominación primitiva de “música progresiva”, tenía enfrentada a buena parte de los alegres y pacíficos chavales del panorama rock del “realismo callejero” de chupa, garito y tribu con animadvers...
I sometimes wonder what it was like to be a music lover in the seventies. So many bands with so many records and so many of them obscure…was it as big a treat as it is today to find something incredibly rare. Blackwater Park "Dirt Box" [Spalax]
ResponderEliminarTheir lone (only one album) with 1972 this German hard rock outfit with an English vocalist,combined elements from multiple extant and budding rock subgenres to construct their complex sound: hard rock, blues-rock, jazz-rock, acid rock, prog rock, and even proto-metal.
Blackwater Park is an obscure band that emerged from the Berlin underground scene. They released their unique album "Dirt Box" in 1971, published on BASF in 1972. The group delivers a captivating, effective bluesy-heavy rock "trip" with lot of incisive guitar riffs, progressive Hammond Organ's arrangements, melodic heavy vocals and psychedelic effects that are part of the mix. His British singer had a strong voice. Especially the third and heavy track "Indian Summer", which clearly shows us the quality, engaging and virtuosity among its members. Remember that the last song is beautiful version of "For No One", composed by Lennon and McCartney,with the album 'Revolver' issued in 1966.
(Accessible) kraut power band whose work is essential for collectors. "Dirt Box" has been recently reissued on CD by record labels Second Battle.
Excelente banda!!!. La conoci el año pasado. Tienen una mezcla de progresivo, toques de bules y hard. Las piezas Indian summer, rock song,mental block y Dirty face muy buenas!!!
