"Focus at the Rainbow" se grabó en el Rainbow Theatre de Londres el 5 de mayo de 1973. Jan Akkerman tenía veintisiete años. Cincuenta y dos años después Jan vuelve a rememorar esos momentos históricos con su "Live Under The Rainbow", esta vez con setenta y nueve años. Jan Akkerman nace en 1946 en Ámsterdam, Países Bajos. Con cuatro años comienza a tocar el acordeón y a los diez se pasa a la guitarra. A los trece años recibe una beca para estudiar en el Liceo de Música de Ámsterdam. Un año más tarde forma parte de la banda de rock Johnny and his Cellar Rockers. A finales de los sesenta forma Brainbox junto a su amigo Pierre van der Linden. En 1969 editan un disco homónimo. Ese mismo año se une a la Thijs van Leer Trio que posteriormente se convierte en Focus. Akkerman permanece en el grupo hasta febrero de 1976 con seis discos a sus espaldas. ResponderEliminarTheir lone (only one album) with 1972 this German hard rock outfit with an English vocalist,combined elements from multiple extant and budding rock subgenres to construct their complex sound: hard rock, blues-rock, jazz-rock, acid rock, prog rock, and even proto-metal.
Blackwater Park is an obscure band that emerged from the Berlin underground scene. They released their unique album "Dirt Box" in 1971, published on BASF in 1972. The group delivers a captivating, effective bluesy-heavy rock "trip" with lot of incisive guitar riffs, progressive Hammond Organ's arrangements, melodic heavy vocals and psychedelic effects that are part of the mix. His British singer had a strong voice. Especially the third and heavy track "Indian Summer", which clearly shows us the quality, engaging and virtuosity among its members. Remember that the last song is beautiful version of "For No One", composed by Lennon and McCartney,with the album 'Revolver' issued in 1966.
(Accessible) kraut power band whose work is essential for collectors. "Dirt Box" has been recently reissued on CD by record labels Second Battle.
Excelente banda!!!. La conoci el año pasado. Tienen una mezcla de progresivo, toques de bules y hard. Las piezas Indian summer, rock song,mental block y Dirty face muy buenas!!!
