LA ESCENA DE CANTERBURY 16. Las cenizas itinerantes y final
El cambio de década hacia los 80 y en adelante tan solo dejaría a una banda de la escena en los terrenos del rock-pop y esa sería Caravan con sus altibajos y discos bastante mediocres solo para fans (yo incluido). Lo que entendemos por “Sonido Canterbury” de base como una derivación británica del rock progresivo no pasaría de la década de los 70´s. Todas las bandas a excepción del señor Pye Hastings, Geoff Richardson y demás colegas desaparecerían de las formaciones originales para trabajar en diferentes proyectos individuales o bien con otros músicos de la misma línea, pero con una inclinación prácticamente y principalmente basada en el jazz. La excepción synth-pop Sería Dave Stewart y su señora Barbara Gaskin que ya nada quieren saber de complejidades con la excepción de alguna colaboración puntual en la banda de Phil Miller In Cahoots. Phil Miller (1949-2017) fue el guitarrista de la escena por excelencia. Lo podemos encontrar en el culebrón canterburiano en multitud de ocasion...

ResponderEliminarTheir lone (only one album) with 1972 this German hard rock outfit with an English vocalist,combined elements from multiple extant and budding rock subgenres to construct their complex sound: hard rock, blues-rock, jazz-rock, acid rock, prog rock, and even proto-metal.
Blackwater Park is an obscure band that emerged from the Berlin underground scene. They released their unique album "Dirt Box" in 1971, published on BASF in 1972. The group delivers a captivating, effective bluesy-heavy rock "trip" with lot of incisive guitar riffs, progressive Hammond Organ's arrangements, melodic heavy vocals and psychedelic effects that are part of the mix. His British singer had a strong voice. Especially the third and heavy track "Indian Summer", which clearly shows us the quality, engaging and virtuosity among its members. Remember that the last song is beautiful version of "For No One", composed by Lennon and McCartney,with the album 'Revolver' issued in 1966.
(Accessible) kraut power band whose work is essential for collectors. "Dirt Box" has been recently reissued on CD by record labels Second Battle.
Excelente banda!!!. La conoci el año pasado. Tienen una mezcla de progresivo, toques de bules y hard. Las piezas Indian summer, rock song,mental block y Dirty face muy buenas!!!
