Imagina que hubieran hecho lo mismo con todos los castillos, catedrales y demás construcciones históricas de todo el mundo.......Un puto desastre cultural. Caliban fue una banda de hard rock 70s que no llegó a grabar nada oficial. En realidad, su currículum ya venía de la década anterior. Del 63 al 67 como The Rebels, ya habían rodado lo suyo por todos los escenarios británicos. En 1971 forman la nueva banda, con aires y sonido renovados. Roy Smith (voz solista, guitarra), Keith Hubbard (guitarra solista, voz), Ray Chapman (bajo, voz) y Chris Kenny (batería, voz solista). Sus raíces rock'n'roll y su conveniente endurecimiento psico & hard, les hicieron partícipes de formar en una liga similar a Stackwaddy o Third ...
I sometimes wonder what it was like to be a music lover in the seventies. So many bands with so many records and so many of them obscure…was it as big a treat as it is today to find something incredibly rare. Blackwater Park "Dirt Box" [Spalax]
ResponderEliminarTheir lone (only one album) with 1972 this German hard rock outfit with an English vocalist,combined elements from multiple extant and budding rock subgenres to construct their complex sound: hard rock, blues-rock, jazz-rock, acid rock, prog rock, and even proto-metal.
Blackwater Park is an obscure band that emerged from the Berlin underground scene. They released their unique album "Dirt Box" in 1971, published on BASF in 1972. The group delivers a captivating, effective bluesy-heavy rock "trip" with lot of incisive guitar riffs, progressive Hammond Organ's arrangements, melodic heavy vocals and psychedelic effects that are part of the mix. His British singer had a strong voice. Especially the third and heavy track "Indian Summer", which clearly shows us the quality, engaging and virtuosity among its members. Remember that the last song is beautiful version of "For No One", composed by Lennon and McCartney,with the album 'Revolver' issued in 1966.
(Accessible) kraut power band whose work is essential for collectors. "Dirt Box" has been recently reissued on CD by record labels Second Battle.
Excelente banda!!!. La conoci el año pasado. Tienen una mezcla de progresivo, toques de bules y hard. Las piezas Indian summer, rock song,mental block y Dirty face muy buenas!!!
