De cómo una banda perdida en el midwest, allá en Milwaukee, va a dar un músico mundialmente famoso. Porque el azar es fundamental, así como la suerte, sin que el ser un talento tenga mucho que ver en un principio. Luego evidentemente, ayuda. En 1973, en plena fiebre jazz rock, dos hermanos van a poner en marcha Sweetbottom. Ellos eran Daryl y Duane Stuermer. Guitarrista excepcional el primero, bajista a la par el segundo. Parece ser que en uno de sus bolos apareció George Duke, allá por 1975, en plan ojeador de fichajes. Alucinó con Daryl y se lo chivó a su amigo Jean-Luc Ponty, que andaba buscando un mástil de ésas características. Luego vendrían Genesis, y lo demás ya es historia........ Espera un momento. Esto prueba que Genesis estaban por entonces muy interesados en el jazz rock. Y no sólo, que también, por el spin off de Phil Collins con Brand X. Blackwater Park is an obscure band that emerged from the Berlin underground scene. They released their unique album "Dirt Box" in 1971, published on BASF in 1972. The group delivers a captivating, effective bluesy-heavy rock "trip" with lot of incisive guitar riffs, progressive Hammond Organ's arrangements, melodic heavy vocals and psychedelic effects that are part of the mix. His British singer had a strong voice. Especially the third and heavy track "Indian Summer", which clearly shows us the quality, engaging and virtuosity among its members. Remember that the last song is beautiful version of "For No One", composed by Lennon and McCartney,with the album 'Revolver' issued in 1966.
(Accessible) kraut power band whose work is essential for collectors. "Dirt Box" has been recently reissued on CD by record labels Second Battle.
Excelente banda!!!. La conoci el año pasado. Tienen una mezcla de progresivo, toques de bules y hard. Las piezas Indian summer, rock song,mental block y Dirty face muy buenas!!!
