Cuando en 1979 se le preguntó a Pip Pype si National Health era la última banda de Canterbury nos dijo que ellos no eran una banda de Canterbury y que solamente las raíces estaban allí. Evidentemente la pregunta iba hacia el estilo y no la procedencia cosa que no debió entender o no quiso. Ellos no encasillaban su música como escena de Canterbury, es más, solo Caravan entendían esta denominación, el resto de bandas asociadas al estilo nunca etiquetaron su música. Esto siempre ha sido confuso y delirante: éramos más “Canterbury” los críticos y comentaristas de música que ellos mismos. A la mayoría no les gustaban las clasificaciones. Incluso observé cierto desdén a esa catalogación. Los “movimientos” denominaciones y términos siempre las inventa la prensa musical. Al final lo gracioso es que de tanto hablar de prog, los mismos músicos y bandas terminan por aceptar el término por “complacer” al “periodista”. ResponderEliminarTheir lone (only one album) with 1972 this German hard rock outfit with an English vocalist,combined elements from multiple extant and budding rock subgenres to construct their complex sound: hard rock, blues-rock, jazz-rock, acid rock, prog rock, and even proto-metal.
Blackwater Park is an obscure band that emerged from the Berlin underground scene. They released their unique album "Dirt Box" in 1971, published on BASF in 1972. The group delivers a captivating, effective bluesy-heavy rock "trip" with lot of incisive guitar riffs, progressive Hammond Organ's arrangements, melodic heavy vocals and psychedelic effects that are part of the mix. His British singer had a strong voice. Especially the third and heavy track "Indian Summer", which clearly shows us the quality, engaging and virtuosity among its members. Remember that the last song is beautiful version of "For No One", composed by Lennon and McCartney,with the album 'Revolver' issued in 1966.
(Accessible) kraut power band whose work is essential for collectors. "Dirt Box" has been recently reissued on CD by record labels Second Battle.
Excelente banda!!!. La conoci el año pasado. Tienen una mezcla de progresivo, toques de bules y hard. Las piezas Indian summer, rock song,mental block y Dirty face muy buenas!!!
