20 POMP ART ROCK BANDS pre-1980
No me gustan las listas. Son injustas, incompletas y siempre les falta algo. A no ser que te las tomes en tono didáctico, y sirvan para descubrir buena música. Es mi objetivo. Le debía una de éstas desde hace tiempo al boss del blog, Juan Carlos Miñana. Cuando menos se lo esperaba, allá que va. Son todo discos de antes de 1980. Incluso algo de prehistoria, con dos de 1973. Evidentemente, USA gana por mayoría en un género que nació allí. Pero he querido insertar alguno de otros sitios. No, no vas a encontrar aquí Alphas Centauris, Trillions, Starcastles, Zazus, Gullivers, Russias o Bighorns. Aunque podría, porque seguro que a más de uno, le suena a chino. La idea es que sea una lista inusual, que evite a los sospechosos habituales que te pondrían en una revista como Rock Candy. Ni muy tópica, ni muy elitista, (bueno, algo sí). Pero no me he centrado en buscar rarezas imposibles, que no estén ni en Internet. Es casi todo Pomp (o así). Con (hard) rock y algo de Art ...
I sometimes wonder what it was like to be a music lover in the seventies. So many bands with so many records and so many of them obscure…was it as big a treat as it is today to find something incredibly rare. Blackwater Park "Dirt Box" [Spalax]
ResponderEliminarTheir lone (only one album) with 1972 this German hard rock outfit with an English vocalist,combined elements from multiple extant and budding rock subgenres to construct their complex sound: hard rock, blues-rock, jazz-rock, acid rock, prog rock, and even proto-metal.
Blackwater Park is an obscure band that emerged from the Berlin underground scene. They released their unique album "Dirt Box" in 1971, published on BASF in 1972. The group delivers a captivating, effective bluesy-heavy rock "trip" with lot of incisive guitar riffs, progressive Hammond Organ's arrangements, melodic heavy vocals and psychedelic effects that are part of the mix. His British singer had a strong voice. Especially the third and heavy track "Indian Summer", which clearly shows us the quality, engaging and virtuosity among its members. Remember that the last song is beautiful version of "For No One", composed by Lennon and McCartney,with the album 'Revolver' issued in 1966.
(Accessible) kraut power band whose work is essential for collectors. "Dirt Box" has been recently reissued on CD by record labels Second Battle.
Excelente banda!!!. La conoci el año pasado. Tienen una mezcla de progresivo, toques de bules y hard. Las piezas Indian summer, rock song,mental block y Dirty face muy buenas!!!
