En 1973, el saxofonista Clive Stevens reunió un dream-team sólo posible para poseedores de artes místicas propias del Dr. Strange. Era el boom del jazz rock. Y atrapar en pleno cénit de la Mahavishnu Orchestra, a su sección rítmica, fue una hazaña imposible para un mortal normal. Sí, me estoy refiriendo a Billy Cobham y Rick Laird. Por si fuera poco, se trajo (con artes hipnóticas, no cabe duda), a tres prodigios del mástil: John Abercrombie, Steve Khan y Ralph Towner. Bien es cierto que éste último se dedicó al teclado. Rol no tan conocido en él, pero de efectividad garantizada. Aquel homónimo álbum, como no podía ser de otro modo, resultó ser un disco apocalíptico. De hecho siempre se menciona éste, cuando el siguiente estuvo a la altura, si no incluso fue más completo. Mantener aquella banda no podía durar mucho. I sometimes wonder what it was like to be a music lover in the seventies. So many bands with so many records and so many of them obscure…was it as big a treat as it is today to find something incredibly rare. Blackwater Park "Dirt Box" [Spalax]

Blackwater Park is an obscure band that emerged from the Berlin underground scene. They released their unique album "Dirt Box" in 1971, published on BASF in 1972. The group delivers a captivating, effective bluesy-heavy rock "trip" with lot of incisive guitar riffs, progressive Hammond Organ's arrangements, melodic heavy vocals and psychedelic effects that are part of the mix. His British singer had a strong voice. Especially the third and heavy track "Indian Summer", which clearly shows us the quality, engaging and virtuosity among its members. Remember that the last song is beautiful version of "For No One", composed by Lennon and McCartney,with the album 'Revolver' issued in 1966.
(Accessible) kraut power band whose work is essential for collectors. "Dirt Box" has been recently reissued on CD by record labels Second Battle.
Excelente banda!!!. La conoci el año pasado. Tienen una mezcla de progresivo, toques de bules y hard. Las piezas Indian summer, rock song,mental block y Dirty face muy buenas!!!
