Landslide - Two Sided Fantasy (1972 / Capitol)
Anteriormente conocidos como Hot Wacks, desde New York, otra banda como Privilege o Wiggy Bits. Esto es, que parecen sacados de una peli de Scorsese por sus apellidos de procedencia italiana. En el caso de Landslide eran estos: Bobby Sallustio (bajo), Tommy Caglioti (batería, percusión, sitar....que yo no escucho en todo el registro), Joseph Caglioti (guitarra, sin acreditar), Billy Savoca (guitarra solista, slide, voz) y Ed Cass (voz solista, batería, percusión). Veo cosas extrañas aquí. Un hermano que compone y toca guitarra, pero no es acreditado, (por un mosqueo de última hora?). Un sitar que no suena. Y dos baterías, de los que uno se llama Ed Cass.... y no es el de Spirit?...... Ummmmh.....Mucho enigma para su único álbum, en toda una Capitol. Señal de que la banda prometía, aunque la rivalidad era feroz por ésos días. 1972 estaba todavía a la vuelta de la esquina psicodélica, y algo de eso queda, por el lado acid blues. "Doin' What ...

ResponderEliminarTheir lone (only one album) with 1972 this German hard rock outfit with an English vocalist,combined elements from multiple extant and budding rock subgenres to construct their complex sound: hard rock, blues-rock, jazz-rock, acid rock, prog rock, and even proto-metal.
Blackwater Park is an obscure band that emerged from the Berlin underground scene. They released their unique album "Dirt Box" in 1971, published on BASF in 1972. The group delivers a captivating, effective bluesy-heavy rock "trip" with lot of incisive guitar riffs, progressive Hammond Organ's arrangements, melodic heavy vocals and psychedelic effects that are part of the mix. His British singer had a strong voice. Especially the third and heavy track "Indian Summer", which clearly shows us the quality, engaging and virtuosity among its members. Remember that the last song is beautiful version of "For No One", composed by Lennon and McCartney,with the album 'Revolver' issued in 1966.
(Accessible) kraut power band whose work is essential for collectors. "Dirt Box" has been recently reissued on CD by record labels Second Battle.
Excelente banda!!!. La conoci el año pasado. Tienen una mezcla de progresivo, toques de bules y hard. Las piezas Indian summer, rock song,mental block y Dirty face muy buenas!!!
