FANGUS - Emerald Dream (2026 / From the Urn)
Leo , entre el cabreo y el asombro, una publicación británica de las supuestamente serias. Va sobre este disco. Al parecer según el lumbreras de turno, Fangus "son una parodia de Steppenwolf y Deep Purple". No. Lo que pasa es que son canadienses. Todos esos grupús-culos que pregonan a los cuatro vientos como los nuevos Bitels de la semana, no parodian. Imitadores de medio pelo, (literal, parecen Príncipes Valientes), criajos con escasas horas de escucha y vuelo. Claro, claro, es que Fangus son de Montreal. Si fueran de Bristol, serían el no va más. Asqueado ya de la prensa musical, y más de la inglesa, a estas alturas del partido. Parece que tras el EP "Meet the Reaper", (Sabbath en Hammond), del 2024, y un par de singles, aquí tenemos el primer álbum de Fangus. Snake St. Louis (batería), Jim Laflamme (voz solista), Vick Trigger (bajo), Chub (teclados, coros) y Alexandre Bigras (guitarra) son los implicados. Motivo de parodia, de "no tomárselo en serio"...
I sometimes wonder what it was like to be a music lover in the seventies. So many bands with so many records and so many of them obscure…was it as big a treat as it is today to find something incredibly rare. Blackwater Park "Dirt Box" [Spalax]
ResponderEliminarTheir lone (only one album) with 1972 this German hard rock outfit with an English vocalist,combined elements from multiple extant and budding rock subgenres to construct their complex sound: hard rock, blues-rock, jazz-rock, acid rock, prog rock, and even proto-metal.
Blackwater Park is an obscure band that emerged from the Berlin underground scene. They released their unique album "Dirt Box" in 1971, published on BASF in 1972. The group delivers a captivating, effective bluesy-heavy rock "trip" with lot of incisive guitar riffs, progressive Hammond Organ's arrangements, melodic heavy vocals and psychedelic effects that are part of the mix. His British singer had a strong voice. Especially the third and heavy track "Indian Summer", which clearly shows us the quality, engaging and virtuosity among its members. Remember that the last song is beautiful version of "For No One", composed by Lennon and McCartney,with the album 'Revolver' issued in 1966.
(Accessible) kraut power band whose work is essential for collectors. "Dirt Box" has been recently reissued on CD by record labels Second Battle.
Excelente banda!!!. La conoci el año pasado. Tienen una mezcla de progresivo, toques de bules y hard. Las piezas Indian summer, rock song,mental block y Dirty face muy buenas!!!
